Cycle Routes West of Aberdeen

Trains run from Aberdeen to Inverurie twice an hour, with trains to Insch and beyond running one every couple of hours.

Dyce cycle route

This relatively demanding 20 mile route starts and finishes at Dyce railway station and passes through the villages of Kinmuck and Hatton of Fintray. There is an option to cut the route short if need be.

Kintore cycle route

A tough 100km loop leaves from Kintore station beside the River Don, and makes its way to Royal Deeside before returning via some of the areas tougher climbs. Expect over 4,000 feet of climbing on this scenic route.

The 35 mile Garioch Loop leaves from Inverurie station and circumnavigates the areas most famous landmark - Bennachie. En route you pass castles, ancient standing stones and have fine views to the distant Harlaw Monument.

Departing the coastal town of Stonehaven this 29 mile circular route travels inland on National Cycle Route no.1 to meet the River Dee before returning via the challenging Slug Road climb.
