Drumoak 10 Mile Time Trial Course
A popular 10 mile time trial course close to Banchory, some fourteen miles west of Aberdeen. The course is a favourite with the local Deeside Thistle cycling club. It is used both in their confined Evening League series, and in open events. See our page of time trials in north east Scotland to see when events will be taking place on this course.
This is a fairly fast course, with sub 20 minute times being recorded on it.
Course Description
The official course description is:
Start A93 Muir of Drum lay-by. Proceed west on A93 to Crathes, turn left at A957 and cross over bridge and then turn left at B9077. Proceed east on B9077 until finish at field entrance 1.8 miles east of left turn to Quarry.
This is a flat course with only 100ft (30m) of climbing overall, as the course profile below shows.
Event HQ - Drumoak Church Hall
The usual strip for the Drumoak 10 is the Drumoak Church Hall. Allow a good 10 minutes to get to the start from the HQ.
Drumoak Church Hall is located next to gothic styled Drumoak Church on Sunnyside Drive, off the main A93 that passes through Drumoak. Pass the church, and take a left before the pedestrian crossing. For Sat Navs use AB31 5EE as the postcode.
Facilities at Drumoak Church HAll
The Hall car park has space for up to 20 vehicles. Limited overflow parking available on nearby streets.
No showers available at HQ
Nearest cycle repair shops are in Banchory.
Mobile reception at the hall is good for most networks.

A very popular course with Aberdeen City based cycling clubs. The AB10/3 is a 10 mile out and back course starting and finishing in Garlogie, a few miles west of Aberdeen.
10 - Lochter Loop
A relatively new course popular with Inverurie based cycling club TEN. This 10 mile circuit starts and finishes near to the Lochter Activity Centre, near Old Meldrum.
AB25/4 - Garlogie Torphins
Another popular course with Aberdeen City based cycling clubs. The AB25/4 is a 25 mile out and back course starting and finishing in Garlogie with a turn in Torphins.
